Miss Lumberpumpkin 2012
What does it look like when girls try copying all three of the men’s dorm events? Prewitt combined all three in its dorm meeting on April 17, where seven representatives competed in karaoke, pancake poise, and wrestling in pumpkins to win the title of Miss Lumberpumpkin.
Students volunteer at Outdoor School
Last week 12 Corban students joined 15 other counselors to volunteer at Outdoor School. From April 9 – April 13, sixth graders attended the camp to learn about how to live in the unpredictable Oregon wilderness.
Roomies? You never know what could happen
Roomies is tomorrow. Before you get all skeptical and say nothing good ever comes from setting your roommate up on a date, remember that Roomies has a long and successful history of bringing couples together that may not have otherwise met.
Student Life announces new RD
Balyo Hall will get a new resident director come July 2012. Corban Admissions counselor Katy Drake will replace Balyo’s current Resident Director, Holly Schilperoort, for the 2012-13 school year.

Corban’s winter wonderland

Open dorm hours called into question
Up until just three years ago, Corban rarely allowed open dorms, though some students still complain about the limited hours in place today. Currently, the rule is dorms are open to opposite genders from 5-10pm on Fridays.
Student wins national poetry contest
Junior English major Andy Tennant won first place in a national poetry contest this past week. Competing against students in ivy league schools and such, Tennant’s collection of ten poems called “Where You See Angels all Over” won the Edna Meudt Memorial Award from the National Federation of State Poetry Societies.
Voting ends tomorrow for ASB candidates
Voting ends March 20 at 11 a.m. for the 2012-13 ASB team.
