Just like an Apple App, the Community Life Team strives to engage the passion of students in various ways to make multiple connecting points on campus. With activities ranging from basketball to yoga, Bible studies to the Boys and Girls Club, the endeavors of CLT meet the needs of students and provide outlets for creative and fun activities.
The words of Frederick Buechner from “Wishful Thinking” provide the basis for CLT’s purpose:
“The kind of work God usually calls you to is the kind of work that you need most to do and that the world most needs to have done… The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
Each CLT member’s endeavor falls under the categories of HEART (“engaging in the arts of creative expression”), HABITS (“developing healthy bodies and practices”), HEAD (“stretching the mind and intellect”), HOPE (“strengthening the heart and spirit”), and HANDS (“practicing citizenship and stewardship”).

Search
Search is a bible study for children of divorce based upon Psalms 139 which asks the Lord to search deep into our lives. The goal of Search will be to provide a supportive group of students who understand each other and push one another to grow closer to God.

Prayer and Service
Every week Corban students will go to one of the Boys and Girls clubs in Salem and interact with the children by helping them with homework or with other activities provided. These students will also meet together on Corban’s campus every week to pray for the children and to see how God works in the students’ lives this semester.

Corban’s Swing Time
Corban’s SwingTime will meet weekly and teach East Coast swing dancing steps and moves. Join us for some fun on-campus swing dancing as well as occasional trips to Portland’s Stumptown.

The Kingdom Experiment
A Bible study focused on actively living out what it means to be a part of the coming Kingdom of God.
