Only about thirty-minutes outside of Salem, the city of Silverton is celebrating the Mexican holiday the “Day of the Dead” with their own celebration. The event is meant to be cultural and artistic in nature but will offer: music, food, games, face-painting, and more. The celebration will last from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and admission is free.

If you’re interested in music that will make your hair stand on edge, check out the Halloween concert at the Historic Elsinore Theatre. The Salem Concert Band will be performing different works that are described as “hauntingly beautiful.” Attendees are encouraged to come in costume, and there will be an award for the best one. The concert will last from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and admission is only $5 for students.
